
What’s my story?

So, everyone has a story right? I always feel like hearing about someone’s background makes me feel more connected to them. And I truly care about anyone that takes their time to spend time on my small slice of life on the internet. So here goes….
I have done a TON of “diets” and exercise routines over the last 5-10 years. Insanity, P90x, Crossfit, Yoga, Pilates, etc. I actually used to run alot and trained and completed a half marathon years ago. I was always an athlete and played a lot of sports so I liked being active but was ALWAYS looking to shed some weight.
I’ve done low fat diets, calorie restriction where you track every morsel of food that goes in your body, I think I did Atkins for a bit too. I would lose some weight but nothing stuck.
My weight had been the same for a few years, then I got pregnant and I was actually able to lose the baby weight fairly quickly (but even my pre pregnancy weight was 20 lbs heavier than where I wanted to be). Then, when my daughter was 1 year old we decided let’s try for baby #2. And after baby #2, things were a little rockier than the first go around…
I was about 15 pounds away from pre pregnancy weight and my daughter was 6 months old. I had always had bouts of anxiety but I had it very controlled and it wasn’t an issue for years. All of a sudden after the second baby, my anxiety got really bad. I felt like I was just existing, like I was watching my life as a by stander. I napped whenever the kids napped, I was so nasty to my husband and my daughter who was not even 2 at the time. I was SO negative towards anything and everyone. And it wasn’t until my brain fog and anxiety lifted that I realized how bad it truly was.
I started (and failed) Keto a few times before I figured it out. Then I wanted to try Intermittent Fasting (IF) and just couldn’t make it past 9am without devouring food. I stumbled upon some supplements that helped me make it through my fasting window and that’s when everything shifted. My mood was better, my brain felt like it was turning on, I was sleeping better, my inflammation in my body was going down.
I recently had been helping a friend make the switch to Keto when I realized, I had no clue what I was doing in the beginning and I would LOVE to help others. I dusted off this old blog that I only used to kind of use a diary to have some sort of creative outlet and here we are 🙂
